                                                 Dunedin Touch-A-Truck

                                                        26 April 2014

The 2014 Touch A Truck event at Highland Park was another huge success thanks to our FSO-PA Karen Montembeault whose planning and organizing of the event was just
flawless. She was assisted by Scott Birdwell, Rob Bonnem, Ed Burgess, Jene Cook, Joan Gutek, Larry Johnson, Allen Leimbach, Tom Loughlin, Walter Murray, Roger Montembeault, Fred
Peruche, Martha Rodriquez, Harvy Prior along with Station Sand Key Coasties BM2 Trevor Quenneville, MK3 Brian Hukalowicz & SN Jaclyn Nafus.

The children along with their parents enjoyed touring the Coast Guard 25 Boat & the Auxiliary vessel (Ed Burgess' Eager Beaver). Our tents which had tattoo stations
for the children along with numerous flyers promoting Boating Safety. Our members had occasion to speak directly to the public regarding Boating Safety.

Bravo Zulu
To Karen & her crew

Hello Everyone,

Thank you so very much for all your help at yesterday's Touch-a-Truck!! Everyone pitched in right from the start... from setting-up, to assisting the kids getting on
& off the boats, to tattooing, to playing the pollution game, to answering questions, to tear-down and finally...bringing everything back to our flotilla classroom.

Your enthusiasm and your fun-loving attitudes are contagious!! I couldn't ask for a better group of people to help with this event. Thank you for wearing the
uniform proudly and well, and representing the Coast Guard and our flotilla -- I was proud to stand with you.
Thank You Karen for organizing another wonderful event

A huge thank you goes to Ed Burgess for allowing us to showcase his beautiful boat and for tolerating (what seemed like a million!!!) kids to climb all over it and
touch everything they could get their hands on!! Fred Peruche, thanks for waking up before the crack of dawn to help Ed safely transport his boat to Dunedin. Ed,
thanks also for lending us the trailer -- that saved us 2 trips each way!

Another huge thank you goes to my husband, Roger Montembeault -- for all his labor of loading and unloading Ed's trailer -- not to mention an enormous amount of
patience for putting up with my bossiness!!

I've completed the 7030 for the event for everyone, and it's attached. Please submit your time for travel and preparation on the 7029.

When I think back to yesterday, working side-by-side with each other and the Coast Guard to bring our message to the community -- an event where the people can
"touch" and experience what the CG and the Aux is all about -- I have a big smile on my face. You give your time, your money, your spirit to this organization and
I'm overwhelmed by your generosity!!

Thank you!
Karen Montembeault
